Our Pastor

Pastor Bob Hill is a 1968 graduate of Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. After high school, he attended East Carolina University where he majored in music education. In 1969, he acknowledged God's call upon his life for full-time Christian service. Subsequently, he enrolled at Tennessee Temple University (TTU) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, then under the leadership of Dr. Lee Roberson and Dr. J.R. Faulkner. In 1973, Pastor Hill graduated from TTU with a B.A. degree in Bible with a Music minor. While enrolled at TTU, he served as president of the Excelsior Literary Society, worked at Maranatha Baptist Church chapel in Tracy City, Tennessee, and was recognized in the 1972 publication "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" for outstanding merit and accomplishment. Pastor Hill holds a Doctor of Literature Degree (h.c.) from the American Bible College.

Prior to becoming pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Water Valley, Mississippi, Pastor Hill served in the pastorate of two churches covering a period of fifteen years. His first pastorate was Faith Bible Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. In 1977, he founded Calvary Baptist Church in Miamisburg, Ohio, where he served for twelve years.

Pastor Hill has been actively involved in Christian education since 1973, beginning with four years of teaching immediately following college graduation. In 1979, he led Calvary Baptist Church to establish its Calvary Christian School ministry for grade levels one through twelve. In the early 1980's Pastor Hill served on the Board of Directors of Christian Schools of Ohio (CSO). In 2005 Pastor Hill was appointed as president of the Mississippi Association of Christian Schools (MACS).

As a result of a previous background in computer programming and his experience in Christian education, Pastor Hill was invited to join the staff of Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) in May, 1988. He served at ACE for twelve years. During his time at ACE, Bob Hill developed software for the ministry's high tech Multimedia Computer-Video Interactive (CVI) computer-based training system and Authoring system. In following years, he served as supervisor and manager of the company's Software Development and Audio/Visual departments. In 1990, he implemented an aggressive project management system, which led to his being appointed as manager of ACE's high tech Multimedia Division by 1993.

In August, 1994, he was directed to consolidate all ACE development departments into a comprehensive Product Development Division. He served as General Manager of the division, which consisted of seven major departments: Audio-Video, Computer Graphics, Instructional Design, Editorial, Software Development, Writing, and Project Management. In September, 1995, Bob Hill was appointed Vice President over the Product Development Division.

Pastor Hill accepted the pastorate of Faith Baptist Church in Water Valley in 2000. He began his first Sunday at Faith Baptist Church on Sunday, July 9, 2000. He also administrates the church's Faith Christian Academy which has been serving the community for over 30 years. Faith Baptist Church now supports many missionary families serving around the world.
